I hope someone can help me with some advice on how to repair the bag strap on my Sunmountain h2no golf bag.  Yes I know that this is a Mizuno forum but I also know that a lot of you use these too.  The strap is starting to come away from the bag on the lower section where the strap connects to the bag.  I was wondering if I could fix this threading a carabena through and attaching the straps to this.  The bag is in excellent condition but out of warranty hence the post.  Thoughts and suggestions welcome

I would think a decent, local Cobbler would sort it out for a couple of quid!

I had this problem (twice) some time ago. Contact Sun Mountain in Leatherhead (Google their details) and they should replace it for free, regardless of warranty. I spoke to them (nicely) & they were very helpful.

And when buying a new one, I've protected this strap area by wrapping it in gaffer tape. Doesn't look too good, but it stops chafing.

Thanks Celtic Billi.  I tried them yesterday but they told me to try and find someone to stich it.  Not much help I'm afraid.

Re: Advice needed - carry bag strap breaking away from bag b

I've been in touch with Sunmoutain over the last few days.  They've been sympathetic and helpful without really being able to assist me.  I need to source a couple of straps with clips like below.  I can then use these to attach them back to my original strapping.  Any ideas?

Just wanted to share the fix that I've come up with for my carry bag.I've cut the original straps away from the bottom of the bag that we're starting to come away.I've threaded a caribena through that gap and added a couple of rings to attach the straps back to.I've completed the fix using some snap locks stitched back to the strapping at my local cobblers.

Cheers! :up:This bag is in tip top condition so was in no mood to bin a perfectly good bag.  What surprised me from trawling the forums for ideas etc was a distinct lack of..  Hopefully that this fix will be of use to others

Yes I agree a nice piece of repair work - If my spine transplant ever comes through, I will bear this in mind as I would love to be able to carry again instead of using my Sun Mountain H2NO cart bag / Powakaddy combo ...

Hey there, thanks for sharing how you solved the problem. I just bought an old Sun Mountain KG:2 stand bag (circa 2010) yesterday and I missed on those end straps almost ripped apart due to wear and tear. I was trying to figure out how can I fix it and came out with different idea. Since I've seen this, I might consider doing this way but abit worried due to the carabiner going through the soft nylon material. I will share it here if/when I get it sorted out. We shall see and thank you for your post.

Have a good one.

I love that fix! Not to mention, it has a hardware look that will probably scare away any sandbaggers who try to scam you to give them strokes. ;-)
