I've been pestering Hursty about golf shafts for my driver which has included some swing tips.

Anyway, the driver went well in today's medal and no dreaded slice. Every drive was in play which led to opportunities with the putter. Anyway to cut a long story short, 81 net 63 = big cut coming.

Cheers Hursty!

Well played mate. Glad to hear you getting the driver working. I'm sure I'm not the first person to say you are a better than current handicap would suggest.

Any chance of a win in the medal? Congratulations on the imenent cut either way.

I had my first full 18 of the year, away with my mate at his course (Pitreavie) & found some form straight away. Much better than expected & good company always helps. Hit almost every fairway & even more surprisingly holed a few putts. 74 net 66, nice start....

The full results ain't in yet but if somebody is better than -8 then they deserve the handicap dosh.

Thanks for the comments MvW and I'll admit I'm frustrated with my handicap. Two weeks ago I shot 105,  the weather was awful but what a crazy gap between two rounds!

Good to hear your first round went so well.

Played in the rollup at New Forest today - 2nd week off scratch after my recent win - Had 3 birdies on the front nine, with a couple of mediocre holes thrown in, finished on 19pts - Back nine was a bit scrappy, but drove green on Par 4 for another birdie & hit my SW stiff on 18th for another kick in birdie! - 16pts on the back so 35pts total - Haven't uploaded my round on GG yet but my driving was very solid today & I'd expect the stats to reflect this ...

Cut 2.1 so 17.5 down to 15.4

I did win the medal too (handicap of course).

Played 18 this morning in superb weather.Nice bit of sun meant it was polo shirt weather.Hit it pretty well again but managed to pull a couple of drives.Well 4 actually and 2 of those cost me big as i went OOB .Still managed to get 1 point on both, which was some achievement.Ended up with 33 points too,Putter was on fire early on and holed some from distance.
