is it really the middle of May

We've just had the most horrendous thunderstorm in Bolton. Thunder, Lightening torrential rain and hailstone. I've not bought any plants yet for the garden because they are still talking about ground frost. I have to keep checking the calender to see if it really is the middle of May. Hardly golfing weather is it

Terrible isn't it mate. We just seem to be getting so much wind up here at the moment. Mix in rain and hail showers and it really tests your dedication to the game. lol

It's getting me down at the minute so I thought I'd try and depress somebody else ;) We are going to have a BBQ summer. I've already put £20 on it at 100/1

I've been surprisingly up beat despite it all.I played yesterday in constant rain showers with no concern for it at all. Be daft to own expensive waterproofs only to call off every time it rains...

Think joining another couple of courses has really sparked my enthusiasm again.

How loaded are you, being a member of three clubs. I think AG are paying you to much ;)

Haha I wish that was the case. I just take advantage of the best deals going while I am at a stage when I can afford to spoil myself! I'm paying less for 3 courses that some people will pay for one.

I remember going for an interview at AG with the owner in Manchester in 1990. At that time there was no AG store in Bolton and so although I was offered the job, I didn't fancy travelling to Manchester everyday. The guy wouldn't leave me alone after I turned the job down. What really put me off, apart from the travelling, was when I asked the question "When do I get to play golf" he replied "Never" At that time I was off six and playing 5 or 6 times a week so I didn't fancy it. Funny how things work out.

My boss is pretty understanding. Our rotas get made up at the beginning of each month and I get my fare share of say in when I can golf.

Simple really, it is now affiliated with Tain Golf Club and is a recognized member of both the SGU and NDGA.

I'm sure he would be delighted to have you on board if you are interested. Just remember he never gives 3 foot putts on the last hole. ;)
