MX300 irons lifecycle

I keep hearing the rumor that the MX300 irons will be replaced soon. I assumed that the 300s and 1000s were on the first year of a two year cycle. Anyone know the real deal? thanks

That's a great question...and not sure if anyone really knows for sure (unless they work for mizuno).

I heard the exact same thing from a rep last week....but he wouldn't go into details. Something along the lines of the 200/300's going away and expect something this fall to replace.

Noticed today also that the price is dropping (-$100) on the MX300's....so something must be up.

I think it would be cool if the MX line of irons were reduced to just two sets. The current line-up is fantastic but can get confusing for the consumers. Not enough seperation between the 200/300, and the 100/1000 seem to target the same player also. Anyway, I have full confidence in Mizunos R&D and look forward to the 2011 line of clubs.

I have been looking all spring/summer @ this club and doing lots of research & reading reviews. This club has been a winner for Mizuno, why replace it now? I had my heart set on getting fitted through the Mizuno PFS. Should I hold off?

You will pick a set up for a great price now that the word is out that something new is coming.

And a previous model of club does not instsntly become a bad club just because it has been superceeded!!

300s are a great iron. I've had 20s and 200s - far prefer the 300. Best MX iron in my opinion.

Hate to see this iron set discontinued after one year, but excited about what Mizuno will replace them with.

Thank you for contacting Mizuno USA. The MX 300 irons will not be in our line next year and will be replaced with a new model available in early September. MX 300 irons can still be ordered for the time being, but stock will be gone soon. We appreciate your time and interest.

Best Regards,

Well finally an official response from Mizuno....very interested what they will offer in Sept that causes them to stop making the 300 which had such great reviews.

I should have waited to order my 300's....I suspect some very good deals in the next month!
