Post custom fitting

Hi,

I am a new started to golf this year. In February I purchase MX-25's off the shelf and now am wondering if I need to getthe adjusted.

Not knowing if I need too do? If I do, what do I need to look at changing? Recently in a pro shop I overheard that one player had additional tape layers added under the grip.

I am looking at not being misled and having to spend money where I need not too.

thanks

I wouldn't worry too much. Unless you're very physically out of the ordinary - then the chances are your fit won't be far off.

Some places offer some kind of "club check" where they measure some basic stuff to see if your clubs are damaging your game by being the wrong spec for you. Certainly no need to get a whole new set of grips just for one extra layer of tape.

If you ever feel like you will replace your 25s at some point - then this is the time to get fully fitted - mostly this is a "free" service included in the price of a new set and will give you the peace of mind that you have exactly what you want - no more blaming the clubs for bad shots :)

Would recommend that before attempting anything with your clubs, you take proper advice.

The great news is that you have a great set of irons already. You just need a little expert advice in checking that the lie is correct for your swing and that the correct amount of tape is fitted under the grip.

I would recommend using your local club pro.

I wouldn't worry about it at the moment. Standard lie is probably as good as anything just now because someone who hasn't been playing very long probably doesn't return the clubhead to the ball with enough consistency to worry about it.

Play at least a couple of years with these then go down the road of a proper custom fit, with Mizuno of course.

This is good advice. The clubs will not retard improvement from 28 to a lot better. If you improve and your swing settles down, patterns may be easier to discern and you will benefit more from proper custom fitting later.
