Just doesn't look right does it? Like a left handed club!

Please excuse my ignorance of Hockey, but more left handed sets sold in Canada due to kids playing hockey????

Close friend of mine from Toronto plays golf as a rightie, but played 'kack-handed' as a hockey player? Assume that means he played hockey from the opposite side of the puck?

Dave Giz's mate who played on this year's Northern Forum Day does that.

Right handed but a left hand low grip. I tried not to watch as it made me a little bit ill tbh :)

To be fair though, he had to put up with watching my swing for 18 holes.

I got him to hold it the proper way once and he actually hit the ball well, but because he lost distance (just two clubs bigger than me rather than 3 ;-) ) he changed back.

Anyway, this seems like an appropriate juncture to dredge up this old video of me hitting both ways http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HF1u8_dTuWM

My usual playing partner is a lefty that plays right just because it was easier to get the clubs when he started.
Our club pro can play both left and right handed to low single figures on both.
And I knew a guy who used to play right hand over left, so left handed but playing right handed. That was weird and I found it very difficult to play that way when I tried. He played off 8.

After reading all the posts I’m feeling quite dizzy with all this left and right hand switching that’s been going on,

I’ve always been predominantly right handed in everything I do and that includes golf but when I first picked up a club I would grip the club like a baseball player does but with my left hand below my right hand and play with a right handed golf swing,

I played this way for a number of years with a handicap of around 13 until I went for golf lessons with Frank Rennie the then Pro at Prestwick golf club,

One of the things he made me change was my grip to the more conventional left hand above right hand with interlock, it didn’t half feel strange to me but he made me stick with it,

After the change my game went right out the window and I struggled big time, but it paid off in the end as I started to hit the ball with a lot more power and consistency and eventually ended playing off 9 handicap,

Now I’m more likely to need the help of a physiotherapist or a chiropractor to sort out my back problems rather than a golf Pro to sort out my swing.:-)

I'm another 'write left-handed, play golf right-handed' type - I was always told it was a good thing, in the golf swing, to have a strong left side & ball striking has always been one of my best attributes ...
I knew a guy many years ago who played off 2 handicap left-handed but could also play to single figures right-handed ...
As others have said, I have tried to make a full swing with a left-handed club & it felt very strange to say the least ...
Cheers
