No Japanese club manufacturer forges there own...all the decent forging houses are ex Samurai sword makers, centuries of metalurgical practice, it's in their blood. Another reason why Japenese club makers do not forge their own is cost, the cost of running the blast furnaces to make the units club makers want it would not be viable, your price per set would double. Cost of materials has risen significantly in the last 10 years and so has your set of clubs.

Do not underestimate the castings from China, the reputable Chineese steel mills are just as knowledgable about metallurgical processes, again it's their blood. I work in the mining and metals industry and know the metallurgical standards of steel mills in Japan and China.

The "made in China" thing is like a bad urban legend whereby it has been stigmatised to suggest that anything made in China is cheap and nasty... But Mizuno standards are high regardless of where it is made, and as has been posted already - lots of great stuff comes out of China!!

You only have to look at the car industry to discover that different parts for most cars are made all over the world and then assembled in the UK or wherever. We live in a European and global economy after all. It's all about making the best possible quality for the least cost

I noticed the T105 had an assembled in China sticker on it. I'd challenge anyone to find fault with it even versus a twice the price Cameron. The finish on Mizuno clubs is superb irrespective to geography.

+1 on that Chris. Mizuno make the finest irons in the world at far and away the best value for money. Just check how much a set of Ping Ansers or Muira irons will set you back in comparison

Id appreciate you not using the word, "Jap". To you it may seem like an abbreviation but to the Japanese people its a racial slur that is considered to be an insult.

The Grain Flow Forged irons are all made in Hiroshima Japan. There's a good You Yube film called the Art of Forging on this.

We don't own the factory but its a joint development and our R&D guys work out of the factory a lot. In true Japanese traditions these manufacturing relationships run very deep. We don't chop and change. There's no one else can forge irons this way.

Once forged some of the finishing is done in China. Standards in China are very very good - depending on the factory. Its the best place to get the work done to our standards.

Custom assembly is local to US and Europe.

Thank you for clearing that up. This is what should be common knowledge for any true Mizuno enthusiast.
