I hit seventeen shanks in a row practicing today  - out of nowhere - I don't usually shank. The first hour's practice pitching was going well too.

I ended up going to see Star Trek.

I'll most probably try again tomorrow.

Played 18 yesterday evening. Bit of a disaster :shakeshead: The swing changes are not moving from the the driving range to the course. Everything is great on the driving range, but on the course it's the complete opposite :( Trying to stay positive, but is hard making the transition from the driving range to the course

The only glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel is my short game. It is back to its best. Probably due to all the practice my long game is giving it

Plyed midweek medal yesterday .Went out in the cold rain and wind,Brrrrrrrrrrrr it was brass monkies.Couldn't feel my hands ,even with the mitts on.Started off with 2 pars and then bogied the next 7,so i was 2 over my handicap after 9!!Missed several putts for par but they just didn't want to know.Anyway nice drive on 10 to set me up for par, again a good drive on 11 but bogied that and 12 and 13.Managed to birdie 14 ,which by the way was one of only 3 birdies all day on the course.Bogied 15 then parred in for a gross 78,nett 68 ,which is par.CSS was 71 ,so a 0.6 deduction takes me to 9.3 and single figures.A win in Div 1 by 8 shots!! and single figures.Happy days.

First action wiith my 69's today. Walked 32 before I ran out of time (had to pick up my kids).  Very windy; a two club wind at times.  At least it was a down and back wind; not swirling.

Shot 36, 38, 38 (front again). So I did the proper thing and logged the 74 :)  hit a lot of fine iron shots. It'll take a little getting used as the lie and loft are not really where I won't them yet.  But loving the 69's!!

i am currently in a love hate relationship with our greens though. We switched from bent to Bermuda last summer. I'm not digging the speed or roll of these babies at all. Lipped many putts today for birdie and par...

now for a long holiday and no golf :(

happy Memorial Day weekend !!

Shot a very tidy 4-over gross today, with a triple on the card.  Putted brilliantly,,, Very Happy!

Managed to avoid 5 straight defeats on the bounce with a progression in my scratch matchplay... Ok opponent got stuck in London and graciously conceded but after four run losing streak a win is a win!

Got out for a late afternoon round today. Unfortunately, half of the course is submerged under water due to the crazy amount of rain we have had the last 3 days. Couple that with high winds and you have a course that is a little tougher than usual to play.

I actually shot well on the front nine going +1. Just a couple of bad holes on the back tarnished what could have been a good round in the conditions. Ended up +5, not overly disappointed with that.

Just about the perfect day for golf today - comfortable tee shirt weather (18*c) without being too hot, a very gentle breeze, course in fine condition, greens freshly cut (even with all new flags and cups), nice company and a bag full of Mizunos.

I played ok all round. Decent ball striking, driving, irons, wedges and putting, all decent wiithout being great.2 birdies and a triple (lost ball in semi rough grr) in amongst pars and bogies.

Well ended up shooting 80 - bang on par. Encouraging and best comp round of the year so far.

Club qualifier tomorrow at Denbigh (never played). Teams of 4 - top 2 (or 3) I think play in the final at Celtic Manor
