Had a cracking round this evening.

I've been tweaking a few things on the range with my grip and set up. Also regripped my irons last night. They had standard sized Tour Velvets on (maybe 2 wraps) so I put on midsizes with 2 wraps (3 in the longer irons). They felt so much better. I spent the whole round trying to hit straight of fade and I even managed a couple of deliberate fades. Anyone who's played with me recently will realise what an achievement that was :) I was loving it so much I carried on playing until it got so dark I couldn't see the green

I didn't keep a score but knocked in a couple of birdies and no major blow ups. Seems like it's finally coming together just in time for the season.... oh wait...

Played the medal finals at the club today...

Worst I've played in 2 or 3 years! Enough said... :-(
It is a paradoxical but profoundly true and important principle of life that the most likely way to reach a goal is to be aiming not at that goal itself but at some more ambitious goal beyond it. - Arnold Toynbee

invited a couple friends to mar hall today before he season ends, started well with a 9, got it together for a bit but overall very untidy.
the new driver was a bit of a star though, smashed my first drive 270 on the 6th, and it kept performing.
I did also snap hook a couple but that was me getting quick. not sure about the sound, but it performs well and I didn't leak any right like the titleist.

Final Monthly Medal of the season today before the stablefords come in. A nice 77 net 68 but a 3 putt on the last may have cost me a win, computers off so who knows?

Lost my singles semi final 2 & 1,giving 4 shots.Started well going 2 up after 2 ,should have been 3 after 3 too.Back to all square with his 2 shot holes and then lost a ball on 9  to go 1 down. Then somehow lost the next 3 to go 4 down .Won 13 and then 15 against his shot and halved 16.So 2 down with 2 to play.Put my approach to 3 feet on 17 and he was 25 feet away.I thought i was taking it down 18 until he knocked in a 3 foot ,right to left breaker from 25 feet!! Gutted
