Well, the three days of golf over the weekend certainly helped MrsDCB get her swing finely tuned. Having driven straight to the golf club on Sunday morning she easily qualified for what is in effect the Ladies B championship. Out again on Tuesday night, as she was called in to be back marker on the Ladies Team for a home league match. She won her first league match tie 3&2 although she had been 5 up at one point.

One things for sure, I won't play her for money this weekend ;)

Well done Christine

Oh dear, the tighter course at our home club opened and it was a rude awakening. The wide-open course doesn't really prepare you for true golf. :D When you're hitting short irons and wedges onto the greens and miss slightly to the left with a hook, you're next to the green or just on it. Take that same, slight miss and put it on a 3 iron and it is sending the ball off the fairway and into trouble. Then add a bit of nerves from the narrower fairways and the quickly-eroding self confidence and you're all set. :)

The game would be boring if it was too easy!

Just played my handicap knockout against the biggest bandit in the club and I had to give him 8 shots, everyone said not to bother turning up but I managed to sink a 15 footer on the 20th hole to finally beat him, that was tough and needed to play some solid golf

Yay, I matched my career best 80 with 3 birdies, 8 pars, 3 bogeys, 3 doubles and a triple bogey. Only 2 FIRs but 9 GIRs and 30 putts. I ended the round with a bit of a roller coaster going birdie, triple bogey, double bogey, birdie. :)

Maybe I'll break 80 this year!

Made a mess of the back 9 in today's club championship qualifier. Very strong front 9 but medal tees and heavy rain beat me. Net 80 so +9. Don't think I'll be defending my title this year...

77 for net 68 today my 1st cut of season, weather was howling as well, had rain, wind, hail and thunder along with a bit of sunshine, must have changed clothes about 14 times with about 8 new gloves :D
If you put your mind to it you can accomplish anything.

lol, one question though:  Why did you keep hitting the ball after you couldn't score any points on the hole????

Was a strokeplay open comp.  38 points made me feel better than saying If I had taken a 5 on that hole I would have won. :(
