LPGA Founders Cup Arizona (spoilers)

Tue Mar 12, 2013 9:52 pm

Posted by BigPete

The girls are back in action again this week in the desert with all the top players in attendance

Can Yani Tseng defend her title?
Can Stacy Lewis finally get to number one? (it's possible this week)
Will we be able to understand the winners speech without the aid of an interpreter?
Can this thread be of any interest to anyone?

All these questions (and more) will be answered over the next 6 days

Well Ai finished round one 9 under and had increased her lead to -11 after 5 holes of round 2

....But look who's snuck into 2nd place. Yep I'm going to continue banging the drum for Stacy Lewis , because she just plays well EVERY WEEK it seems. She is 3 under for the round and -7 for the week/, helped by an eagle at the short par 4 16th (her 7th).

She's paired with Pauler CreamIER (-5) and Yani Tseng (-2)

Yani Tseng is currently at the cut point - everyone is tearing this course up. There's a chance she may not make it to tomorrow.

The number one spot is officially up for grabs this weekend.

Stacy is in the strongest position of the contenders to grab it at -11 (Na Yeon Choi is -3, Inbee Park is -4)

Just been watching the last hour of her round and Stacy is striking the ball really well.

She might be levied a two shot penalty after the round though, that is yet to be determined though.

Ah really? - I haven't been able to find a stream for this one.

Either way it looks like coming down to the same 3 girls in the last group today. Ai Miyazato 2 clear as it stands from Stacy in 2nd.

Reminder - if Stacy wins and Tseng is 3rd or worse (she's currently 13 shots off 3rd...) then she goes to #1 in the Rankings
