I have been using the d201 my last few rounds and its a great ball. I previously used Taylor.made burner tp. It's a little more clicky off the putter than the burner tp but still soft enough and performs great off the irons and driver.

As myself & others have said above, if you want something less 'clicky' with the putter but still goes well then check out the HEX Diablo - I've been using them for a month & they are excellent winter ball - I might even try them in the spring to see what they go / stop like?

I'm interested to read this post as, although I've only played once, I didn't notice any difference in distance - with the obvious exception of roll.  It was 8 degrees, with a 10mph northerly wind giving an effective temp of 3 or 4 (all according to the Met Office)  I had 3 thermal layers on with the occasional 4th, woolly hat and/or windshirt - although, granted, these were proper golf clothing, so won't interfere with the swing.

I was playing Nike 20XI blacks.

Anyone else experience the same, or was I dreaming?

Incidentally, I'm playing again this Sat so I'll find out if I was dreaming!

Meant to say that I was following the old Pros' trick of alternating balls...

ProV1 in the Summer and I switch to the ProV1 X in the winter and have done for several years now, the only difference being that I would probably make them last a bit longer.

See, that's interesting.  I have certainly noticed that range balls do not go as far in the winter, but as I noted above, the 20XI blacks seem to - which are premium distance balls, like the V1x.

How come you don't play the V1X in the summer? Purely feel?
