jpx fli hi hybrid

when i  was fitted for my current clubs at burhill the fitter recomended a jpx 19 degree hybrid fitted with a  ns pro 1150 shaft to match the irons.
i am happy with the this club but i do not get enough height to stop the ball in the summer i was getting a lot of roll.

i am considering replacing the shaft with a graphite shaft
could anyone reccomend a suitable shaft that will play close to the ns pro 1150

The NS Pro 1150 has a mid kick point so mid flight. Graphite shafts have kick points just like steel so you don't want one that plays like the NS Pro 1150 you want something with a low kick and so a high flight. What it is made of is not necessarily what is at play here.

Tried to move the ball a little forward in your stance, that club head gets the ball up pretty quick for me with a low launch shaft in. Give it a RIP!!

I am still waiting for my order. The costumes office did grab the parcel and hold it since 4 working days. Too bad, I can not wait to try them.

New member to the forum. First post.

Picked up the 3 and 4 "iron" stock in the used bin and they still had the plastic on them. I guess somebody traded them in for store credit. I needed to fill in my gaps between my 5 wood and my 5 iron. I had a 910H with a KBS steel shaft at 21* that's not working as well as it used to.

What intrigued me about these "irons" is that they are designed as iron replacements instead of distance clubs. I would rather hit my gaps with accuracy vs hitting long and everywhere!

I haven't tested them on the course but out on the range they are hitting the gaps I need (180ish, 190ish) despite the fact they are stiff flex  and I play KBS tour in regular flex in my irons and wedges. I was fitted for my Miuras and the Mizuno shaft optimizer was used to determine the shaft over a year ago.

I also like the fact there is not any offset as I hook and pull my hybrids more than my irons. Much less offset than the old JPX Fli His

My question is: Although they are stiff, do you guys think these shafts work out for me? My average drive is 250-260 yards with roll.

Thanks!

Hi Greg,

Did you end up getting the Fli Hi hybrids? I'm in the exact same situation as you in terms of filling the gaps.  I just purchased a new set of fitted JPX EZ irons from 4I to GW.  Looking to fill the gap now between 4I and 3W.  The Fli Hi look like the perfect fit since I'm not a huge fan of the other types of hybrids on the market.

Any feedback you could provide if you did end up purchasing them?

Thanks

Yes! I did buy but returned for store credit realizing I can order thru the store and get on the shaft optimizer and adjust the lie angles.

I ordered the 3 iron 2* flat with Project X graphite and the 4 iron 2* flat with KBS Tour. No upcharge with KBS and project X $20 upcharge

They are working great! I still fight my hook at times but have been working on putting the ball back in my stance like an iron which helps.

I have actually shot my lowest round yesterday and used the 3 iron 4 times, 4 iron once.

Thats awesome Greg. I ordered my Fli Hi 3 yesterday through Golf Town as they didn't have any in stock.  The odd thing was that although I could choose the shaft, it didn't allow for changing the Lie Angle directly from Mizuno.

Golf Town said they would adjust it once they receive it at no charge.  I went with the same shaft as I did on my irons which was the X105 Stiff.  I had a good launch angle with these shafts and it felt the best of the bunch.  Anxious to get out and play as I will be headed to Boca Raton in February for a 5 day golf trip.  Can't wait!

Thanks

That's odd you were told that the Mizuno factory cannot adjust the lies on the Fli-His.

They can and will maintain the warranty. If it is done outside the factory, the warranty is voided.

I hit my 3 iron on two par threes with a distance of 195 yards. I didn't account to my pull and put it on the fringe pin high to the left. Shot my low score of 87.

Enjoy hitting it in Florida!
