Handicap Cuts - what's your biggest?

Under the How Did You Do thread I shared my recent handicap cut of 2.1. I looked up the club records and my last handicap cut was three years ago and that was 2.7.

I've played 25 medals between these two cuts and only 4 were within the buffer...

So have you had any bigger handicap cut in a single medal or a similar wonky history?

Before the CONGU system your handicap was only ever cut on an under par round & going up was only an annual event (if at all?) - I only played as a junior where I grew up in NI, but when I came to England I hadn't played for about 5 years, so I submitted 3 cards and was given a 24hcp - I won the first competition I played in with a nett 66 and my handicap was cut from 24 to 18

About 4-5 years ago big swing change, started from scratch again and worked all winter hitting up to 800+ balls per week.

Was 18 Hcap, came into first big comp off the whites and shot 78 net 60, cut to 15 so a 3 cut.

I went from 28 to 7 in one season as a teenager and thought I was going to win a prize from the Telegraph for the largest reduction nationally, but some guy went from 28 to 2 in the same year

It was around 4 a few years back after starting lessons (from 18 to 14).

It was 2.0 (or a bit more) based on CSS differential on the day plus another 2 from the ESR table as I'd played well a few weeks before!

Now down to 7.5 after another 1.6 cut on Saturday so very happy at the moment.
