Mizuno staffers Jiyai Shin (-8) and Stacy Lewis (-4) both had good opening rounds but all the headlines (and surely not for the last time) are going to Lydia Ko (remember that name). 15 years old and leading after a 10 under 63.....while paired with Yani Tseng (-5) and Michelle Wie (+1)!!! Is this Korean born New Zealander the hottest prospect in golf right now?

Last year she became the youngest golfer to win on any major tour with the LPGA Canadian Open

As far as the race for the #1 spot goes, Stacy is currently 1 behind Tseng and it doesn't look like (2nd in rankings) Na Yeon Choi is playing this week.

Really? I see she's using a TM putter (Raylor Ghost like my old one)

BTW Michelle Wie said she didn't give Ko any advice on when to turn pro. Probably a wise move...

Ko's 10 under round included 3 bogeys including her first hole!! She's fifteen and paired with the number one player in the World.

I still can't quite get over this..

Anyway round two has just started and Mizuno's Jiyai Shin has just taken a share of the lead \o/

Mizuno staffer Jiyai Shin wins!!!! (-18) by 2 shots from a back to form Yani Tseng

15 year old amateur Lydia Ko finishes 3rd a further 2 shots back, and just misses out on her 4th pro tour win having led most of the week....

A decent showing from Stacy Lewis in 15th at -8

Win for the JPX825 Pros.  Though Shin played the MP driver and T4 wedges as well.
