Well this is the first "biggie" of the year. The World Golf Challenge match play, and the draw is in....

There's just a couple of injury pull outs, notably Snedeker and Phil Mick all the big boys are in action. Every tie is a huge match up.

As for the Mizuno guys....

Luke Donald vs Marcel Siem
Bubba Watson vs Chris Wood
Tiger Woods vs Charles Howell III

http://www.worldgolfchampionships.com/content/dam/worldgolfchampionships/docs/pdf/2013-WGC-AccentureMatchPlayChampionship-RD1.pdf

Hold onto your hats folks!! I love match play and this is as good as it gets.

Yes it is! The Wednesday and Thursday are my two favourite days of golf outside of the majors, i'm really looking forward to it.

After very careful consideration, I think the semi finals will be:-

Charl Schwartzel Vs. Justin Rose & Hunter Mahan Vs. Ian Poulter

Although I make it a Poults Vs. Donald Quarter final so that could change.

However in my Prediction I would have a final of

Justin Rose Vs Ian Poulter

With Justin coming out on top with a very close finish.

And third place to go to Hunter

Hope it works out this way any way would be an amazing final to watch!!

The year Luke won was the year the hailstones fell. There was a classic picture of him sheltering from the hail behind his bag and brolly. Had it as my desktop for a while.

edit... still on the Mizuno web site

The golf course is very high above sea level. The temperature when they started yesterday morning was just a few degrees above freezing. So it might not go away that quickly

One "Mizuno man" through so far.... Bo Van Pelt (TM staffer playing mp69) beat John Senden 6 & 5 and will probably face Poults in the next round.

It's incredible how well they've got the course looking after the deluge yesterday

Bubba takes out Chris Wood but he gave him a good fight by the looks of it.

Biggest shock so far is Henley taking out Schwartzel

Certainly not looking good for the Nike "Dream Team" right now

Schwartzel OUT
McIlroy OUT
Woods OUT

HUGE win for Charles Howell III

what about the always Svelt Carl Petterssen? He has a shot at the 2nd round. Any Nike dream team has to have this guy in it.
